As someone who doesn’t have my mother around to support and push me towards my goals, when I see something like this video of Kanye and his mom it plays my heart strings.
I’m a huge fan of skateboarding, DC Shoes and following your dreams. For a while now, DC has been creating this series entitled “Rediscover” and the latest installment is Rediscover Dreams, and follows on the heels of the DC Shoes movie premiere of Danny Way’s documentary Waiting for Lightning. Rediscover Dreams gives us a look into what has been going on in the backyard of Mr. Way over the past couple of years, and might I say it’s epic.
I remember the first time I heard the name Danny Way. It was 1996, I had just got my first skateboard and someone in my crew was talking about a skater who broke his back surfing, and continued to shred on a skateboard a few long months later. That skater was Danny, and years later I’d come to learn that a broken back was just one of a countless number of injuries that could’ve easily ended an average persons carreer, but not Danny Ways.
So, if you’re like me and couldn’t make it to Hollywood last night, then you missed premiere for the long awaited documentary entitled “Waiting for Lightning” which documents Ways early years, and his ground breaking career on 4 wheels.
Not to fret though, because thanks to Facebooks newest illegitimate child-Instagram, we can see how the night unfolded through the lens of some of skateboard and Hollywoods elite. Enjoy.

Not only do I rep the apparel with pride like it was my own, but I’m a frequent visitor to their blog, which is home to the writings and rants of its creator Bryan Espiritu.
It’s not your typical blog, this reads more like the private journal of a genius/mad man. One look at his art and you know he can write, and vice versa. He writes what’s in his heart, yet it sounds so relevant to the world we live in.
