DC Shoes: REDISCOVER Mikey Taylor

Every time one of these videos hits the web I find myself lost in the passion the 4 minute clip portrays.  Back in the day I had to find passion in the pages of a Thrasher or Transworld, but now we’re so much more fortunate to get such an intimate look at some of the hardest working dudes in the industry we love so much.

Congrats to Mikey Taylor on his all new signature DC shoe.

DC in Vancouver: Waiting For Lightning

On April 13th and 14th, Danny Way, Josh Kalis, Matt Miller and Wes Kremer from DC Shoes joined Chad Dickson, Micky Papa, Sascha Daley and Paul Trep from the Canadian team to do a couple of demos/signings and host the Canadian screening of Waiting For Lightning in Vancouver. Here’s the video evidence, provided by Don’t Sleep Productions and DC Canada…

DC Shoes: Rediscover Dreams

I’m a huge fan of skateboarding, DC Shoes and following your dreams.  For a while now, DC has been creating this series entitled “Rediscover” and the latest installment is Rediscover Dreams, and follows on the heels of the DC Shoes movie premiere of Danny Way’s documentary Waiting for Lightning.  Rediscover Dreams gives us a look into what has been going on in the backyard of Mr. Way over the past couple of years, and might I say it’s epic.

Kalis 1

Just Watched: Epicly Later’d — Josh Kalis

This isn’t the latest video to go viral, or even a new video for that matter, but it’s the first episode in a series profiling one of the illest, realest most prolific street skatersof all time, who came out of the huge explosion of skateboarding that took place in the 90’s.
In my humble opinion Josh Kalis is what skateboarding is. When I think of a skater in my head, he’s everything that I picture. Skateboarding thrived for a while on the east coast in the 90’s, at the same time hip-hop was blowing up, and skaters like Stevie Williams, Jason Dill and Josh Kalis were the product of that cultural monument.
This series of videos takes the viewer back to that time into the middle of Love Park and the politics that surrounded it. It follows Kalis from the east to the west coast while he tried to make it as a pro skater.
if you grew up skating, this is a must see.
